Very nice exhibits for 5- to 20-year-olds. Welcoming and well taken-care of.

Attended for a birthday party. Great experience. Knowledgeable staff. The "chatty" bird in the rear was a HUGE hit. Very, short walking path, not as extensive as the Hidden Pond Nature Center...nice just the same.

This nature center was awesome. They have great displays and activities for the kids. It is a bit more spacious and less crowded than some other nature centers we've been to in Fairfax county. I didn't expect them to, but when my son asked if he could pet one of the snakes, a member of the staff pulled out a snake and let him pet it. My kids have been begging to go back. The nature trail behind the building goes down the hill to the river. There is a walking trail there too.

Well-placed educational center in West End Alexandria. Hosted year-long after-care center through Alexandria City Recreation. Gave our daughter an educational outlet afterschool, with an emphasis on the wonders of the small park near the Nature Center. A lot of outside time, getting dirty and looking for bugs and snakes! Also, art and enrichment activity with dedicated, caring staff who are interested in the students.
