Greenbrier Farms was established in 1916 and for years was the largest wholesale nursery in the world. Greenbrier Farms is renowned, far and wide; for the many introductions of newly cultivated varieties of plants that were developed there.
Around 1973 the nursery operation was relocated to several land parcels in the Hickory section of Chesapeake. The farm's main office was moved into the beautiful farmhouse on the property.
Today, the new 'Greenbrier Farms Nursery’ is the direct successor to the original Greenbrier Farms legacy with 500+ acres under production with quality trees and shrubs and 12 acres of greenhouses for our container grown plants. Additionally, Greenbrier Farms has opened the property to the public for site seeing and education tours, weddings, special events and just plain farm fun.
