This is our second visit to Great Wolf, our first to VA. Upon arrival, our room was not ready and we were upgraded even though it was not the 4pm check-in time yet. This was greatly appreciated, especially with young children. The chef was very friendly at the Loose Moose restaurant and great with kids. The life guards were attentive and great with the kids, especially the ones at the top of the slides. We took advantage of the Pup Pass and played the scavenger hunt with the build-a-friend which was perfect for a 4 year old and not as time consuming as the Magic Quest game. Overall we are happily enjoying our vacation and will continue staying with the Great Wolf Lodge establishments.

Service was great. The water park was a lot of fun. My biggest beef was that there were kids running and yelling in the hallway between 1130 and 330 am. We had to call security 3 times. All security did was tell them to get into their rooms. As soon as He left, they came back out. He didn't talk to their parents or anything. Front desk also seemed annoyed that we called. Other than that, it was a great time. Food was really good, and some of it was reasonably priced, although some was amusement park-priced.

Great place for kids. Rooms are not like regular hotel with accommodations lacked towels and washcloths when had six people they left for 4. Half roll of toilet paper and didn't leave extra. No Kleenex. No sheets for pullout sofa for our extra two guests. The buffet food was great and reasonably priced for what was on it, seafood. The hoagie and salad place little pricey. Suggest staying five days to do everything. Buy package deals like meals, Wolf pass, kids got loads of great things. Overall we had fun as a family and made lots of memories.

The water park facility and staff are great. Overall, our vacation was a resounding success and we will almost certainly be back. As busy as the water park can get it was quite clean and the lifeguards were very attentive. However, one night of a multi night stay was a night with low occupancy so they did not offer their dinner buffet. The kids mac and cheese came out looking like it sat under the warmer for an hour and my wife's medium well burger was medium rare at best and her fries were old (been under the warning lamp too long). To their credit, the restaurant took those meals off the bill. Second, I reported an issue with our coffee pot and microwave popping the GFCI outlets sporadically. No one came to switch out the appliances or otherwise let us know that the issue was looked at. Still, I'd recommend coming down for the water park.

The lodge is nice, but I was not happy about their pricing practices. They charged $96 in "fees" on top of the advertised pricing. When I asked about the fees, I was told it was so they could provide good service. Basically its so they can advertise one price, and charge you more at the last minute when your ready to check out. Very Shady. Do not expect to pay the advertised price at all, expect about a 30-40% increase.
