Fredericksburg Independent Book Festival

Our Story

The Fredericksburg Independent Book Festival all started with James Noll. After attending several local and regional book festivals, comic, sci-fi, and horror conventions, he knew that Fredericksburg was the perfect place to start his own festival. After contacting Amy Bayne about the idea, she introduced him to Chris Jones, and they put the first festival together in 2016. The second festival is on track to be bigger and better, and the trio are looking forward to another awesome day of indie-publishing, marketing, and downtown Fredericksburg!

Our Mission

Independent publishing has arrived. In 2016, Indie Authors, Amazon Imprints, and Small to Medium Publishers accounted for 45% of ebook gross sales. More and more people are publishing their own books, and more and more will need a place to market their work.

That’s where the Fredericksburg Independent Book Festival comes in.

Our mission is to provide a venue for local authors, graphic novelists, publishers, book artists to market their work, and to foster an interest in reading, writing, and literature.
