The Birchmere is a great spot for seeing some of your favorite musicians and singers at a very reasonable cost. It is quaint and comfortable setting that allows you to feel upfront and comfortable with the artists. The drinks are plentiful, the food is ok, and the staff are courteous and accommodating. No need to dress up or down, wear your best jean's or your favorite sun dress. High heels are not recommended due to the graveled parking lot- of course that is your call. The restrooms are much to be desired but you can take care of those matters before you go. Have a great time!

This is one of the top music venues in the DC area and much more intimate than most. Seating is at tables only, usually general admission. There is a decent menu with several vegetarian options, excellent selection of beer and wine. Prices are moderate. The only annoying thing is they charge for water. We've seen many extraordinary performances there. The place seems to inspire artists.

Very cozy place. There are no bad seats. Arrive early so you can eat and pay your check before the show begins as they turn off the lights when the show starts. Very good venue for concerts. Ticket purchase does not include food. Food is moderately priced. Very diverse food selection. Great customer service.

Music is normally fantastic. Food is ok. Seating is not reserved so someone from your party needs to be in line by 4:00 for a 7:30 start to get a number to get into the music Hall when it opens at 6:00 if you want a good view of the stage. 3:00 is required for popular artists.

This is the worst concert venue I have ever been to in my life, and I work in production so I see A LOT of venues. I saw a funk band there the other night (Here Come The Mummies) and they had tables and chairs out! Who the hell wants to sit down for a funk show?! Also they served food which is seriously so trashy. What band/artist wants to see people SITTING DOWN and EATING FOOD while they are trying to play their heart out for you. The answer is 0. If it was a standing show I would have had a great time. I definitely would have ordered at least 3 beers and a jack & coke, instead I ordered 0 beers because of how stupid the venue layout is and how upset I was at everyone sitting down. The show also started exactly at 730 which is really early. I’m guessing the bulk of the Birchmeres audience is old white people which explains why I had a terrible experience there and why the rest of the years lineup looks awful. Managment, consider changing some things around, otherwise in 10 years when all of your patrons are dead, your business will be too. I’m a stage manager/production engineer and I’m still salty about the show the other night, but not salty enough to help you if you need ideas.
