First Night Alexandria

First Night Alexandria, the largest family-friendly and affordable New Year's Eve Festival of Music and More event in the region, returns as a celebration showcasing performing arts throughout Old Town in the City of Alexandria. The annual event (in its 29th year) takes place on Sunday, and will feature a variety of activities, activations, dance parties, live music and more. Museums, churches, retail stores, hotels, and public buildings are turned into performance venues to showcase a variety of talent. The festivities kick off at 2:00PM, pause at 6PM for a family -inspired Fireworks display and concludes at midnight as the community welcomes in the New Year.

First Night Alexandria showcases the performing arts by giving exposure to new artists, rising stars, and seasoned professionals to expand their audience. We are committed to diversity in our line-up and seek to expand cultural awareness and experience all year-round!
