The farmhouse originally known as Oakdale was built in 1902. In this historic house we used to have a post office in our kitchen! It’s true. In the early 1900’s the old Farrington Post Office sold stamps and sent packages from our farmhouse as part of the rural “Star” postal route. By 1935 the roads in Hanover had improved to the point that rural postage stops closed.
